Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Where should we take the photos?

(01)

Your location depends on what area you're local to. I server Pittsburgh and several surrounding areas, and I am happy to work with you to come up with a location that fits the aesthetic you're going for!

Can you remove blemishes?

(02)

Yes I can! In fact, you'll receive this service on your photos for no additional cost. All the choice photos go through the process of retouching, which is blemish removal, lighting and saturation adjustments, etc.

Do you do other photoshoot types?

(03)

I specialize in Portraits, Couples and Cosplay, however I have experience in event photography, engagements, weddings, senior photos, family shoots, and more! I'm happy to do different shoots aside from what I have listed.

Do you work with kids?

(04)

Yes! I love children and working with them. I'd be happy to capture some fun photos of your little one(s) or your family as a whole!

For those who may not have had professional photos taken before, you may have a few questions! This is where I answer some common questions people might have before or after their shoot!

What Should I Bring?

The broad answer is, whatever you want!

My recommendation, however, is to keep things light, but make sure you have the essentials. We will be having you sit, and stand and be in many poses, so the less you have on you, the easier things will be. (Costume and creative props being the exception.)

Of course there are some things you might want to make sure you have with you, such as your phone, your wallet, keys or purse. This is perfectly fine, however we will avoid having these items in the shot. I am more than happy to keep them on my person while we take your photos so they remain safe, while also meaning you will still have access to them if you need something. A medium size bag should do the trick!

Things I will have available if needed:

  • Hairspray
  • Bobby pins
  • Safety pins
  • Lint roller
  • Tissues
  • Make up removers
  • Cotton Swabs
  • Water

Other things you can bring:

  • Make-up (for touch ups)
  • A hairbrush
  • Any props you desire

Can I Bring A Friend?

Absolutely, you can bring a friend! I understand how meeting with someone you don't know can potentially cause some anxiety and having someone you're familiar with can help ease that. It can also make things a lot of fun! (Note: For only $25.00 you can include your friend in your photos with you if you desire!)

What Should I Wear?

The best answer to this is to wear something that you feel confident in! Whether that be a cozy sweater or a little black dress!

I recommend avoiding bulky outfits that may take away from the features of your frame, but if you have further questions regarding an outfit choice I would be delighted if you reached out to me to talk about it!

You can reach me on my contact form, or you can shoot me a message on Facebook or Instagram.

What Is The Golden Hour?

The Golden Hour is a term often used by photographers to describe the time of day the sun is rising or setting. The lighting this hour provides creates a soft, warm glow in photos that you can't get at any other time of the day!

I offer my photography services at all times of the day, however if you're looking for that special POP to your photos, this is a great time to book!

The Golden Hour times change depending on the time of the year, so let me know if this interests you and we can discuss the right time to book!

What If I Need To Reschedule?

Life happens, and things come up. If you need to reschedule your photoshoot, don't fret! There is no fee associated with picking a new date that may better accommodate your schedule, or the weather! For more details, please Click Here to view my policies

What If I Need To Cancel?

If you need to cancel your booked shoot, I completely understand! Like I said before, life happens.

A 50% deposit is due at booking to secure the date and time. When the photo session is a week or less away the deposit made becomes non-refundable. The remaining 50% is due 48 hours prior to the shoot.

If you've made the complete payment and need to cancel, and it is within a week of the scheduled date and time, you will receive 50% of the total payment back. If you made the complete payment and need to cancel before the time is within the week, you will receive a full refund.

For more detailed information about this, please Click Here to view my policies.

Are You LGBTQIA+ Friendly?

Absolutely! In fact, I am LGBTQ myself! I love when I get to work with anyone a part of the community. I am a safe photographer to book with if you're looking for someone to be your authentic self with!

I am happy to do LGBTQ couples sessions, and poly couple sessions.

This extends to all minority groups as well. I am a very friendly, and inclusive person to work with and I enjoy capturing diverse people in all walks of life.

What If I Need Disability Accommodations?

I understand having limitations, as I live with chronic illness and pain myself. I am more than happy to work with you and provide accommodations. I have my booking forms set up so you can include any information you'd like me to know regarding this particular topic. Letting me know in advance will help me provide you with the best experience possible.

I will plan ahead and talk with you to come up with poses that will better suit your needs, such as mobility aid friendly poses, or poses that allow you to lean or sit if you have physical limitations.

I am also happy to set aside some additional time for our shoot together, for no additional charge, if you believe there may be a need for us to take a break between photos as well.

I would hope it goes without saying, but in case you're wondering, service animals belong wherever you go and I have no problems with them joining us! Whether in your photos, or simply working around us. Registered service animals can be included in photos for no additional cost.

What Does Retouching Mean?

Retouching is the process of running the photos through an editor program and making small adjustments to enhance your photos. This includes lighting and saturation for brightness and color as well as blemish removal and skin softening.

When Will I Get My Photos?

My turn around time may vary depending on the season and how many shoots I have that month, however my typical turn around is about 2.5 weeks. This means I'll be in touch about two and a half weeks after your shoot, and provide you with proofs of the photos taken (retouched). You will then get to choose which ones you like based on how many your package included, and the unwatermarked version will be sent to you! (You also have the option of purchasing additional retouched digitals for a reasonable price if you desire more!)

How Will I Receive My Photos?

Your photos will be uploaded privately online and you will be sent a link through your preferred method of contact. This will first be done to show you the proofs where you can choose the photos you'd like. Once you make your choices, you will receive another link where you can download your unwatermarked digital copies.

If you would like to be provided with a thumb drive with your digital photos on it, you can request this and I will happily provide you with one via the mail, for $35.00.

Can I Buy Additional Digital Images?

Yes you can! You will pick a base package when booking and that package will come with a set amount of retouched digital images, included in the price. Once you receive the proofs, if you find you want to purchase more than what was included in your package, you can do so conveniently through your gallery!

Can I Buy Prints Through You?

I offer a variety of printing options through the gallery you will receive your photos through.

If you choose not to print through me, and you'd like to seek out another printing company, this is perfectly fine! Please reach out to me if you'd like to do this so I can email you a custom print release form as proof of written permission. Some printing establishments will require this release before they will fulfill an order.
